WebMay 31, 2016 · The work describes a new low-impact synthetic route to Pt(ii)–carboxylate complexes, a class of compounds provided with established anticancer activity. The process is based on the ligand substitution on [PtCO3(Me2SO-S)2] (1), a new synthon that can be easily prepared in water with high yield, is stable as a Webchloroform (1H, δ 7.27 ppm, 13C δ 77.0 ppm), benzene (1H, δ 7.30 ppm), dimethyl sulfoxide (13C, δ 40.5 ppm), or methanol (13C, δ 49.9 ppm). Infrared spectra were recorded on a Midac M-1200 FTIR. High resolution mass spectra were acquired at The University of Illinois Mass Spectrometry Center.
